I played with the performance settings as I understand it is GPU dependand on the Macbook Air has crap GPU because it simply isn't designed for that type of work. Had to wait on average 3 - 5 seconds when I would jump between images. The performance of the software was awful. On the laptop, all I did was point it to a folder with half-a-dozen JPGS from my XT2. On my older Macbook Air (which has a SSD and runs LR and PS fine) and on my workhorse iMac (i7 3.4Ghz 32Gig RAM + SSD).

Well I gave it a try over the past couple of days.

This is the third maintenance release for ON1 Photo 2017. This is promising for future updates too. I have not tested this version yet, but the specs looks quite good, and On1 really work fast on their improvements in new versions. On1 are also compatible with compressed RAF. I can recommend On1 as a raw-editor for RAF-files, as I really like the workflow and speed.
